
Greg Veal
Executive Director
Greg Veal brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his role as executive director at Solstice at Santa Rosa. He previously served as a director, area manager and general manager for a variety of resorts. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from San Diego State University.
An Orange County native, Greg has lived in Kauai, Hawaii, Southern California, Lake Tahoe and, for the past six months, Santa Rosa. When he isn’t working, he enjoys getting outdoors to play golf and softball, hike, surf, and travel to new places.

Bren Boyd
Culinary Services Director
Bren Boyd brings three years’ senior living experience and over 30 years of experience as a chef to his role as Culinary Services Director at Solstice at Santa Rosa. He previously served as executive chef at The Forum at Rancho San Antonio, food and beverage director at Running Creek Casino, owner and chef at Caylen’s Restaurant in Orinda, California, and owner and chef of Food on the Geaux food truck.
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, he grew up at the Lackland Air Force base; he also lived in New Orleans before moving to California. For the past 16 years, he has called Hidden Valley Lake his home.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Rouge Culinary Academy in Sausalito, California. Bren continued his education by participating in a chefs tasting panel for The Culinary Institute ChefsBest program, where he earned Certified Master Taster certification. He then became a Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation and held every office of the board of directors of the San Francisco Chapter of the Culinary Association of the Pacific Coast.
When he isn’t serving our residents, Bren enjoys spending time with his family and friends, tending to his vineyard, driving his ’69 Camaro, and working on his house and food truck.

Shauna Burton
Business Office Director
Shauna Burton brings nearly 20 years of experience in health and senior care to Solstice at Santa Rosa. She has served in a variety of roles, including certified nurse assistant, resident care manager, administrator and in human resource development for a variety of health care, assisted living and memory care facilities.
A Los Angeles native, Shauna has lived in the Santa Rosa area for nearly 15 years. When she isn’t working, she loves spending time with her husband of 20 years, four daughters and dog, Odin. Her favorite hobbies are camping, kayaking, hiking and gardening.
