Greg Veal

Executive Director

Greg Veal brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his role as executive director at Solstice at Santa Rosa. He previously served as a director, area manager and general manager for a variety of resorts. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from San Diego State University.

An Orange County native, Greg has lived in Kauai, Hawaii, Southern California, Lake Tahoe and, for the past six months, Santa Rosa. When he isn’t working, he enjoys getting outdoors to play golf and softball, hike, surf, and travel to new places.

Meghann Barkley

Director of Sales and Marketing

Originally from South Lake Tahoe, Meghann Barkley previously served as national sales director at Aston Hotels & Resorts, senior sales manager with Silverado Resort and Spa, and director of Sales and Marketing at Brookdale Paulin Creek.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management from California State University Long Beach.

Outside of work, Meghann enjoys spending time with her family and fur baby Charlotte, exercising, hiking, and exploring fun new places.

Celeste Lim

Vibrant Life Director

With over 13 years of experience in skilled nursing and assisted living environments, Celeste Lim is a dedicated Vibrant Life® Director specializing in developing and implementing comprehensive activity programs. Celeste earned her Activities Coordinator certification from the College of Marin, providing a strong foundation in crafting evidence-based, resident-focused initiatives. Celeste is adept at designing programs that cater to the emotional, intellectual, cognitive and physical needs of residents. By integrating these dimensions, Celeste ensures that each activity not only entertains but also promotes holistic well-being and engagement. Throughout her career, her top priority has been improving the quality of life for residents. Celeste continuously seeks to stay at the forefront of best practices and industry trends to deliver exceptional service and support.

Kevin Anderson

Culinary Service Director

Kevin Anderson has been the Culinary Service Director at Solstice at Santa Rosa since the beginning of 2024. He has worked at his current community for 10 years, rising through the ranks at Solstice and honing his skills. Kevin trained at the Culinary Center through Santa Rosa Junior College, earning certificates in both back-of-house and front-of-house dining.

Kevin is also a passionate pastry chef with a focus on pastries. He is always open to new ideas and is constantly experimenting with different recipes to bring fresh and exciting meals to the residents every day.

Melissa Morrissey

Vibrant Life^® Director

Melissa Morrissey, Vibrant Life^® director, has worked in the senior living industry for nearly a decade. She previously served as activity director at Oakmont of San Rafael, a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, a group fitness instructor for seniors at Live2Be Healthy, and a caregiver and recruiter for Interim HealthCare.

She loves working with the residents of Solstice at Santa Rosa and believes that keeping the mind and body fit are a crucial part of aging.

She attended Sacramento State University, then earned an Associate of Science degree in kinesiology from Diablo Valley College.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Justin, and her dog, Dude, as well as biking, hiking and swimming.

Bren Boyd

Culinary Services Director

Bren Boyd brings three years’ senior living experience and over 30 years of experience as a chef to his role as Culinary Services Director at Solstice at Santa Rosa. He previously served as executive chef at The Forum at Rancho San Antonio, food and beverage director at Running Creek Casino, owner and chef at Caylen’s Restaurant in Orinda, California, and owner and chef of Food on the Geaux food truck.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, he grew up at the Lackland Air Force base; he also lived in New Orleans before moving to California. For the past 16 years, he has called Hidden Valley Lake his home.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Rouge Culinary Academy in Sausalito, California. Bren continued his education by participating in a chefs tasting panel for The Culinary Institute ChefsBest program, where he earned Certified Master Taster certification. He then became a Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation and held every office of the board of directors of the San Francisco Chapter of the Culinary Association of the Pacific Coast.

When he isn’t serving our residents, Bren enjoys spending time with his family and friends, tending to his vineyard, driving his ’69 Camaro, and working on his house and food truck.

Reyna Mendoza

Business Office Director

Reyna Mendoza has been a Business Office Director for the past six years. She previously worked for facilities with memory care and also managed six rehab facilities for drug and substance abuse.

Reyna loves spending time with her family and her two fur babies. She was born and raised in Sonoma County. On her free time, she enjoys traveling and pottery. Reyna feels that her love and passion belong to senior living and doesn’t see herself anywhere else.

John Caron

Building Services Director

John Caron, Building Services Director, is a lifelong Santa Rosa native and previously served as a maintenance director for over a decade. Before joining the Solstice team, John worked in construction for 12 years.

When he isn’t working, John enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and softball, fishing, and camping.
